An Areeza is a personal letter to Imam al-Mahdi (A.J.T.F) during his occultation, sharing worries, hopes, and duas — like speaking to someone who truly understands.
It can be written anytime you feel anxious, lost, or in need, especially on the 15th of Sha’ban. People may bury it, place it in water, or take it to sacred places like Masjid Jamkaran, believing angels deliver it to the Imam.
Areezas can also be addressed to other Imams and placed at their shrines. This brings spiritual connection, comfort, and reminds us the Ahlul Bayt (a.s) are always near.
